THE FUTURE OF BUICK THROUGH THE FUTURE

Buick has unveiled a little more this week about his future concept car. The full-size vehicle, which was presented in premiere at the Detroit Auto Show, could represent the future of the Buick range, as its name invokes. Given its size that makes a little more than 5.18 meters and its width which is almost 2 meters, it would be logical Buick benefits from the new drive platform Omega to set in motion the production of the Future. This platform also shoed debut soon with the launch of the Cadillac CT6, 2016.

For now, we know very little about possible engine that would end up in this car. It is however known that the future would be equipped with a V6 engine, depending on what GM said. Like the Omega platform, Buick could turn to the Cadillac division for the selection of its engine. The new V6 twin turbo engine that is found in the ATSV models CTS Vsport. Again, everything is speculative here.

Design

The aesthetics of the vehicle gives meanwhile a breath of fresh air in Buick. The designers of the American manufacturer to put the package in order to impress the public, both by modern curves of the car with its interior finishing. The latter also boasts new adaptations of wood trim that are boosted with the classic style that is recognized for the Buick brand.

As for the interior of the car, Buick designers have intermingled classic and modern elements to create the frame of the Future. The front grille shows a clean look at Buick, while the two LED dome light bulbs invoke modernity.

The Future concept is shod on aluminum alloy 21-inch wheels, while the vehicle would offer an adaptive suspension, according to a selection made by the driver. The front cockpit boasts a 12-inch touch screen, a wireless charging system for smart phones and a wireless high speed internet connection through OnStar. The rear passengers benefit for their two infotainment systems to high definition display which are integrated in the rear seats driver and front passenger.

The Future of the Future

For the moment, impossible to know whether this model is a foretaste of a future production or just a concept, some elements will be included in the development of other vehicles. It would however be logical for Buick to move forward with the Future as the brand continues to know a sales growth in China, where cars full-size American manufacturer rage.
